Salt Lake City Research Trip - Flyer is out!

The latest San Diego Genealogical Society newsletter contains the flyer to sign up for the SDGS's research trip to Salt Lake City. For those who went last year, the trip should look pretty familiar as it is based on a tried and true itinerary. For those who are thinking of going, be sure to read the article in the next newsletter to be better prepared. If you have any questions, get in touch with Kris at kristeenealogy@cox.net.

July History Mystery Tour full

Anyone who was thinking about going on the July History Mystery and did not get on the list will be disappointed to learn that we are already full. Ten members will be carpooling to the new NARA facility in Perris, Ca. on July 20 for a guided tour and orientation. This is NOT a research trip, but those going are looking forward to seeing the facility and having a special understanding of what it is like when our speaker from NARA talks about it at the October seminar. There is a waiting list for any member who might want to go in place of someone if they have to drop out. Contact Kris at kristeenealogy@cox.net if you want to be put on the waiting list.

June History Mystery Tour

On Saturday, June 26 at 10am SDGS members will meet at the William Heath Davis House, the oldest wooden structure in downtown San Diego that now serves as a museum. All peices in the house are from the mid to late 1800's. Each room is an exhibit of the house's different residents, one e of which was Alonzo Horton. Following the self-guided tour of the house, we will go on a guided walking tour of the Gaslamp Quarter. There are small admission fees for both tours. After the tours we will meet at a Gaslamp Quarter restaurant for lunch. Carpooling is available. If you are an SDGS member and interested in attending, please call Kris at 619.820.2552 or email at kristeenealogy@cox.net.
